: planning and research

Our group started off by doing our own research to finalize a topic, we then each put our topic up in a poll on our Whatsapp group to vote.

Figure 1.1 Voting Poll, Week 3

I voted for "How does tattooing work" as I felt that topic was incredibly unique and i was curious of the process myself. However, the vote came to a tie, so we decided on what would be easier to animate as a video.

This was our research file (all research and planning done throughout the project):

: proposal & mock storyboard

We organized a group meeting and collectively decided on choosing "The Story of Matcha" for our final topic, and divided each slides to respective members to work on a collaborative canva and to create a respective mock storyboard with the following members per slide.

I worked on the introduction slide, which looked like this:

Each of us proposed an idea for the art style of our storyboard, and overall final video. This was our selected design:

I worked with Farida to divide the storyboard into two sections, this is what we came up with for the introduction:

FEEDBACK

Week 1: Get into your groups and finalize a topic.

Week 2: Can start with storyboard, will have 5 scene to do, 2ppl 1 scene. If you guys wanna add more info in your storyboard do add in slides as well. This storyboard is about what you wanna include in the video, the layout and the flow of it.

Week 3: Presentation is well done. Summarize the topic into a simpler idea, either choose between the "History of Matcha" or "3 simple matcha uses and how to make them". Shorten your script and storyboard accordingly, and ensure suitable voiceover.

REFLECTION

FLIP presentation proposal was really enriching working with so many different girls, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. I appreciated everyone's support and contribution, everyone seemed eager to do their part, especially our group leader. I wasn't particularly keen on the topic, but as we progressed, I grew to love it and realized it was perfectly chosen. Throughout the project, we managed to stay on track with the timeline, and our tutor seemed satisfied and impressed with our output and overall progression to the final project.
