PROJECT 1

PART 1A: Physical Collage (5 marks)

SUBMISSION: PHYSICAL COLLAGE

This piece is inspired by the idea of mixed cultures, races, and languages. The phrase "Hello," conveys language and communication. For the main subject, I cut off the face and stuck a mask cutout to signify the mystery of identity and or race. It showcases the importance of our identity and self, and how where we come from plays a big role in how we look and communicate with one another.

PART 1A: Digital Collage (5 marks)

REFLECTION

Project 1 gave me an understanding of composition, how to translate ideas into a digital format, and how to use Photoshop, which was new to me. The collage work was my personal favorite, as I was granted creative freedom and experimentation while creating it. For Part B, I enjoyed watching video tutorials, as they were helpful and straight to the point. Mr Fauzy was quite understanding and a helpful tutor, as I was able to submit assignments within my own timeframe, and easily consult him for help.
