INSTRUCTIONS
PRACTICAL
1. Choose and identify your collage's design elements to be cut out and compose it into your own concept & story.
2. Pre compositing your collage's design elements into a composition.Reference: https://youtu.be/2KqXGMf0HNk
3. Take 3 photo of your collage pre-composition and insert it on the section below. Please use CAMSCANNER apps to take pictures of your collages.
4. Submit (Turn In) this W2_COLLAGE ELEMENTS I started off creating a composition, I cut off various heads of diverse individuals and cut up the "Hello" letters. I used pieces from fashion and travell magazines, combining the two to potray diversity and communication.
1. PRE-COMPOSITION #1

Figure 1.0 Pre Composition #1
This composition seemed suitable enough to be my first selection. I started working on more collages afterward.

Figure 1.1 Second collage design attempt
This design was also done in an effort to keep that feeling of country and culture, however it did not feel visually strong or as appealing. the scan made it further unclear and flat. I kept progressing with other designs.
2. PRE-COMPOSITION #2

Figure 1.2 Pre Composition #2
This next composition felt perfect and once more gave a cultural feel to it, specifically Asian culture. I found the text appropriate and the piece open to interpretation. The pop of yellow gives a balance and draws attention towards the main subjects, which I have used leading lines through the subjects eyes (focal point) to be directed towards each other, allowing the viewer's eyes to travel through the piece.
I wanted to experiment with a more playful and pop-culture collage. I took snippets from teen magazines and colorful advertisements.

Figure 1.3 Colourful collage attempt
I wasn't happy with the way it turned out and decided to head towards a different direction. I took inspiration from fashion magazines and wanted to replicate something equally as fashionable. I needed my main subject to be of a muse, and cut out a model suitable.

This was my final selected composition:
3. PRE-COPOSITION #3

I liked this design due to the focal point being an eye in the middle, whilst the subject's eye is closed. I wanted the colours to feel muted: sophisticated and simple, and stuck to a simple black, white, grey and red palette to create this effect. I like the pop of read and the text feels suitable as it says "Every city has its own taste" which could refer to fashion and aesthetics as well. The overall look feels very fashion editorial spread.
1. FINAL COMPOSITION #1

After consultation with Mr Fauzy, this was my final selected design. He requested i reduce the number of heads and liked how clean cut and exciting the piece felt, being both simple yet effective. This was my favourite too!
